As a Mom who had to endure watching her son go through detox in the hospital along with pancreatitis I wish you all good luck and God's blessings on curing your addiction. He spent almost 3 weeks in the hospital and almost died a couple of times. This at the age of 22. A very difficult thing for a Mother to watch. He had to quit cold turkey and can not have even one drink for the rest of his life. They say that one drink may kill him. His pancreas is slowly healing but I doubt will ever be completely healed. Only because of his young age was he able to recover as good as he has. They say that if he were older he wouldn't have made it. He's healed enough that he no longer has to take insulin. It's been a year and he's doing great. I believe the most difficult thing about addiction is going within and trying to discover what it is that is bothering you, causing you pain or what you are trying to avoid feeling. Drugs and alcohol only hide or mask the problems and only temporarily. It's kind of that catch 22 thing. What can make you feel better or make the pain go away can cause more anxiety and other issues after the effect dies off. God Bless you all - YOU CAN DO IT! Don't give up. You are very prescious, valuable and are worth having a healthy and happy life.
